Linkle, a “new” character introduced in the Hyrule Warriors series, could appear in future Legend of Zelda games. When asked about the possibility by IGN, Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma said that ““I’m sure we will keep her in mind when thinking about future titles.”
Aonuma also had these comments about Linkle (via IGN):
” I had a chance to give feedback on Linkle during development, but the satisfying action of using a crossbow, which we developed for the spinoff title Link’s Crossbow Training, was implemented this time completely by Koei Tecmo,”
“It may feel a little different from other titles in the franchise, but she doesn’t feel out of place at all in the world of the Zelda games.”
Linkle will appear in Hyrule Warriors Legends, which comes out on March 25, 2016 in North America. IGN says you can also unlock the character in Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U.
