Rumor: Game Cube games coming to Nintendo Switch Virtual Console

Nintendo Switch rumors continue to swirl around and this time, Tom Phillips from Eurogamer reports that Game Cube games are making their way to the Nintendo Switch’s Virtual Console.

Not only that, but multiple sources are stating that this is the case, with Laura Kate Dale and Emily Rogers both corroborating this information through their Twitter accounts.

Eurogamer reports that there are three games ready for the Nintendo Switch and that those games are Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi’s Mansion, and Super Smash Bros. Melee.  Not only that, but Animal Crossing is currently being tested on the system for potential release.

Another reason to be enthusiastic about this possibility is the mention that the Nintendo Switch Virtual Console is being engineered by Nintendo European Research and Development (NERD), which is the same studio responsible for the hard-to-find NES Classic Edition mini console. NERD did a masterful job on the presentation for those games, which are leagues above previous attempts on the Wii and Wii U.

The dounside to this news is that, if those games are making their way to the Nintendo Switch Vircual Console, it diminishes the possibility of having HD ports.

Which games from the Game Cube library are you looking forward to play on the Switch?
