After the Switch Presentation, Nintendo needs one more Direct to hype up the Switch

Hello Everyone! I hope you all enjoyed Switchmas and the presentation.

But here is the main problem I and many others have had with the presentation. They showed a bunch of stuff, but they left us with many important questions that people need to know by March 3rd.

For one thing, they talked about paid online, yet we didn’t hear anything about pricing or when the service will go into effect. Nintendo shows that they will have a free trial for online until fall but they fail to mention that you do not “get” the free game each month. So I am assuming you can pay for the service at launch or they aren’t going to introduce this feature until fall. nintendo-online

Also, where was Virtual console? Hell they barely showed the home screen UI. This console comes out in 6 1/2 weeks, and we only know a small lineup of games coming first year. They need to show off in some way what will be on the Eshop at launch and beyond and a simple Twitter post wont cut it. They need either a Direct or a video on their YouTube page.

Also, like I said, Nintendo didn’t really show much of their games coming to the System. Yes we saw Xenoblade 2, Splatoon 2, Zelda, Mario, Fire Emblem Warriors (Direct coming January 18th) but that cannot be all of the games coming this year. They can wait for E3 but I would hope we have more games coming between May-August and I just don’t think Nintendo would be dumb enough to wait until June, three months after launch to show the rest of theit 2017 lineup.

Nintendo left many disappointed with the Presentation, me being one of them. While I did Preorder a Switch with Breath of the Wild, many Nintendo fans will either just wait and play Zelda on Wii U or just wait for a price drop because they didnt see enough games coming down the road that made them want to make the Switch. (Sorry for the pun)

I think we will see a Direct in mid February, to show fans and potential consumers that Nintendo is not messing around with the Switch and that the Switch is the console to buy this year.

Well, that’s it for now. I hope my prediction comes true because honestly, I think the Switch needs more games announced before launch to make people wanna buy the console ASAP.

Do you agree or disagree with me? Let me know your predictions in the comments!

  1. There is a big misconception when it comes to the Online portion of the Switch and especially the voice chat. Some people are saying that it is a separate app that you have to purchase in order to talk with your teammates. The app is actually included as part of the online subscription that Nintendo will be selling, and the screenshot you provided clearly shows it as part of it. As long as it is a somewhat cheap subscription and has good incentives, I am on board with it.

      • It also frees up ram that otherwise would be use to have it running on the background will playing a game. People already do it with Discord, Teamspeak, etc. They are just criticizing it because it is Nintendo.
