Yooka-Laylee Wii U backers will default to Steam Code if they don’t update selection

Switch or default to Master Race

Playtonic has updated their Kickstarter page with important information regarding the people who backed the game for Wii U and on how to select a different system.

At this time, the only available physical versions of the game are for both PS4 and Xbox One. The Wii U version was canceled in favor of the Switch, and you can select to receive a download code for Nintendo’s newest console instead.  If Wii U owners don’t make a selection when the Backerkit survey opens up, they will instead default to a PC Digital steam code.

From the Kickstarter page:

Considering the positive reception the Nintendo Switch cases have gotten, I hope Yooka-Laylee releases with a physical copy for the system. It would go nicely alongside the games that will be available for the Switch.

Yooka-Laylee will release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on April 11th. A Switch version is currently being worked on concurrently with Nintendo, but no details on when it will be available. At this moment, the Switch version will be digital only and will update if Playtonic makes a statement about it going physical.
