Switch Pro Controller to last 40 hours on a single charge

And it keeps going…

Recently, Nintendo has been sending Nintendo Switch kits to the Press containing the system, games, amiibo figures, and additional controllers, and these outlets have been releasing videos of their unboxing.

NeoGAF user Vic alerted us to a video in which GameXplain did an unboxing of his shipment boxes containing the Nintendo Switch items, and did a close-up on the Switch Pro Controller box.

If the official packaging for the Switch Pro Controller is anything to go by, it will be able to last up to 40 hours on a single charge:

Needless to day, this is somewhat of a step down from the Wii U Pro Controller which could last up to 80 hours on a single charge, but it is definitely a step up from both Xbox One’s and PS4’s controllers. The Xbox One controller can last ‘up to 30 hours’ using rechargeable batteries, and the PS4 controllers last for about 7-8 hours, mostly because the LED lights on it drain the battery faster.

Regardless, with the amount of technology that the Switch Pro Controller packs inside, it is amazing that it can still last so long, especially compared to Microsoft’s and Sony’s offerings.
