Super Mario Sunshine will have to wait…
Are you ready to pick up your Nintendo Switch console on launch day?
Where you looking forward to the possibility of downloading games like Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi’s Mansion, or Super Smash Bros. Melee?
Well, that will have to wait.
According to various members of the Press, the Nintendo Switch will not have any Virtual Console titles at launch, but Switch games will be available to download from the eShop. Also, there will be an update required for access to eShop, but this can be downloaded on the background while you play your game.
With the recent updates to the Nintendo Account Website, and the ‘Account Activity’ section now allowing you to see all of your previous purchases, it seems like it is just a matter of time before you can access games you previously purchased on your Wii U and download them to Switch.
This is not a confirmation of what Nintendo may be working on, but considering that not a single Virtual Console title is available at launch, it can be discerned that Nintendo is still trying to figure out how they will be implementing them on Switch. Also, remember to go to your Nintendo Account to secure your User ID for use on Switch before anyone else does.
Nintendo will be hosting a ‘Nindies’ showcase this coming Tuesday, February 28th at 9:00 AM Pacific Time on their website. The Nintendo Switch releases on March 3rd, 2017. Be prepared for more information on the Nintendo Switch later today as the embargo lifts.
