Took long enough

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a port they say. That ports do not sell as good as regular games they say…

It is no secret that Mario Kart is one of the most beloved franchises in all of gaming, which is why it was odd that some people were dismissing its selling power just because the game was a port of a Wii U version that has been available for three years.

Daniel Ahmad, which concentrates on tracking sales data confirmed that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe surpassed the one million copies sold by the end of April, just three days after its release.

Ahmad, Daniel (@ZhugeEX). “Persona 5 (inc Japan/Asia sales) and Mario Kart 8 join the million sellers list for April 2017.” 2 May 2011, 9:29 a.m. Tweet.

Historically, Mario Kart has sold gangbusters in every console its found itself, including over 37 million copies on the Wii.
