Switch passed the test!
When Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers was announced for the Nintendo Switch, Capcom notoriously made a comment which seemed to suggest that subsequent support would rely solely on the performance of that game on the system.
Last week, Capcom revealed that Ultra Street Fighter 2 had indeed sold over 450K copies on the Nintendo Switch, surpassing their very own expectations for the game. Later on, Capcom said that additional games would be making their way to the Nintendo Switch.
In other words, we passed the test!
The first of those games has officially been revealed through Resident Evil’s official Twitter account:
The games will be released together as part of the Resident Evil Revelations Collection for $39.99 which will include a single cartridge for Resident Evil Revelations and a digital code for Resident Evil Revelations 2. Both games will also be available for digital download separately at $19.99 each.
With the original Resident Evil Revelations holding a healthy Metacritic score of 82% for the Nintendo 3DS and the sequels following a similar template, this is a very good start for the Capcom-Nintendo relationship on the Switch.
Now all we need are for Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 7, and Monster Hunter XX to be released on the West (and perhaps Monster Hunter: World on Switch?)
