Splatoon 2 Splatfest to feature new “Twilight Zone” stage

Welcome to The Twilight Zone!

Twilight Zone stage

Splatoon 2’s first “official” Splatfest will start this coming weekend, and its Twitter account has given us a glimpse of what to expect, with a new stage called Twilight Zone (or Shifty Station in English) to be featured only during the Splatfest.

The Splatfest itself will pit Mayo vs Ketchup, which should provide us with a more balanced selection than the previous Splatfest before the game’s release (Cake vs Ice Cream was embarrassingly lopsided towards Ice Cream):

Here’s the Twitter announcement:

New information on festival has been found! In addition to 2 stages chosen by usual Nawabari battle, there is a case that a special stage called “Twilight Zone” is chosen only at festival time. It means that this mystery zone, is different from each time a festival is held. (Google Translation)

The stage itself won’t be part of the regular rotation right now, but with the amount of updates the original Splatoon received, it should only be a matter of time until ‘Twilight Zone’ (I like this name better) becomes a normal stage during online play.

Splatoon 2’s first official Splatfest, Mayo vs Ketchup, beings this August 4th at 9:00 PM PDT and will end on August 5th at 9:00 PM PDT.
