Opinion: Nintendo Should Not Reveal Zelda DLC Pack 2 At The Game Awards

Hey guys, we’re now at the end of November, and still have the promise of the Champions Ballad DLC still coming this year. However we still know next to nothing about it, or have seem any game play since early July. I have heard from many people that they predict it to get a trailer and a release date at the Game Awards in early December. I however am not sure that this is a good idea.

This DLC pack seems too big just to show off in a 2-3 minute trailer then toss it out into the world within the next 2-3 weeks. With the promise of a new story, a new dungeon, and “additional challenges.”  Instead, I think Nintendo should throw us a 5-10 minute Direct, possibly at a random time without lead up, showing off the game and talk about it’s new features instead of showing it off at The Game Awards.

My main concern about that option is that if it were going to come in a Direct it would have to come extremely soon. The Game Awards are in just under two weeks, on December 7th, and if my logic was to make sense and give it more time in between reveal and release it would have to happen before The Game Awards, which I also don’t know how likely that is. The Game Awards would be a great place to hype up DLC for Zelda, but I don’t know if it would be smart for them to do so that far into December, when it’s supposedly launching by December 31st.

Either way I think it’s impossible that we don’t know any information about it any later than The Game Awards. I see either option happening, but with that recent rumor of a slot on the Japanese Nintendo Direct website opening up I think it could be a Zelda Direct, just because I don’t think Nintendo will have another general Direct until January.

Thanks for reading my random thoughts, I hope they made sense! What do you guys think? Do we get a random trailer drop/Direct or do they save it for The Game Awards and make a splash there? Let me know in the comments or let me know on Twitter!
