Is it really a surprise?
The Nintendo Switch has been the revelation of 2017, with the system being consistently sold out since its release back in March 3rd, TIME naming it the Top Gadget of 2017, and having the top two reviewed games of 2017, so it is no surprise that the system has been selling like crazy.
But with the Nintendo Switch not receiving a discount for Black Friday, some people questioned whether consumers would instead go for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One which were going for as low as $189 and some with additional games or gift cards added as an additional incentive to the purchase.
As it turns out, it seems not having a discount did not hurt the Nintendo Switch sales. At all.
Adobe Digital Insights provided information confirming that the Nintendo Switch was the best selling item on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
