Restart the hype clock!

It seems like it was just a few days ago (it literally was) that the Nintendo hype train got started with rumbling that a new Nintendo Direct would be just around the corner and they didn’t disappoint, with games like Mario Tennis Aces, The World Ends with You Remixed, and Dark Souls Remastered announced for the Nintendo Switch (along with some Wii U games being ported over).

Now that people are finally composing themselves from the hype, Nintendo has reset the clock once more and started the carousel all over again, with Nintendo of Japan updating their website with this cryptic message:

“New Play” using Nintendo Switch will be introduced on this page. (7:00 AM JST)

As if that weren’t enough, Nintendo of UK joined the chorus, updating their website as well, teasing it for a 10 PM UK time (5 PM EST):

Even though an announcement has been teased, there is no confirmation on if this will be a new Nintendo Direct, and from the way Nintendo has carried on with the announcement, it could very well be a small video and not a Direct itself.

Additionally, no references to previous games have been made, like Chibi-Robo on fire praising the sun for the Nintendo Direct Mini, so it is hard to predict what Nintendo has up their sleeves. But with Nintendo of UK making it clear that this is a “new interactive experience” for the Nintendo Switch and that it will be “specially crafted for kids and those who are kids at heart”, we can’t help but once again get onboard the Nintendo Hype Train.
